When being a pedestrian becomes dangerous

A walk in the park usually conjures up images of tranquility and peace. However, that may not always be the case when you're en route to the park.

Imagine you've left your home, you're walking through the city on your way to the local park and as you cross the street a motor vehicle hits you. You had the right of way. You made sure to look for oncoming vehicles, but a car turned the corner, didn't see you and hit you head-on.

Hopefully this doesn't happen, but in busy cities we often hear of busy and distracted drivers who hit pedestrians as they are crossing the street. Such an accident will change the life of that pedestrian forever. The injuries may be minor but the emotional impact will more than likely last longer. And what if the injuries are more than just scratches and bumps? What does the pedestrian do? These types of accidents can be confusing and complicating. Even more so as the pedestrian tries to recover from the accident and get back to normal.

If this has happened to you and you don't know where to turn, you may want to contact the attorneys of Abramson Smith Waldsmith to assist you with your case for damages. They may be able to guide you in seeking the appropriate remedy against the motor driver who hit you. Often these are accidents rather than intentional acts, however that doesn't mean that liability is negated due to the incident being deemed an accident.
