There may be few scenarios as scary and hazardous as encountering a wrong way driver. Such negligent behavior inherently increases the chances a collision may occur and accidents of this nature run the unfortunate risk of leaving those involved with life-altering injuries or worse. Two people died and two others suffered serious injuries following a recent chain-reaction car accident that took place in California.

According to reports, the incident began just before daybreak on a recent Saturday when authorities received information about a driver who was traveling in the wrong direction. That call was reportedly followed by reports of a subsequent collision. While many of the details pertaining to how the collision occurred remain unclear, reports indicate that the crash involved up to seven vehicles in total.

Law enforcement agents have advised that two individuals passed away at the scene of the accident. They also say that two others suffered critical injuries and were rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment. An investigation into the crash is reportedly underway and will likely seek to determine why the accident occurred and what might have caused the driver of the first car to travel in oncoming lanes.

Every car accident has a chance of leaving those involved with severe injuries or surviving loved ones grieving over an untimely loss. Those who encounter similar hardships due to the actions of another driver may wish to better understand all their available legal avenues, and they could choose to seek guidance on the next steps to take by speaking with an attorney. An attorney in California can work with a client in evaluating the situation thoroughly and subsequently assist him or her in seeking the full amount of restitution entitled through a claim against the party deemed responsible.
