A sudden and unexpected move on the part of a driver runs the risk of causing others nearby to be caught off guard and unprepared to react to the situation. While in many cases, such a scenario may only force other drivers to slam on the brakes or make an unexpected lane change, there is always a chance things could take a turn for the worse. One person has died and two others suffered injuries in a recent car accident that took place in California.

According to law enforcement agents, the collision took place at around 10:30 a.m. on a recent Saturday. Initial investigations suggest that it occurred when the driver of a car suddenly crashed into the rear of a nearby truck. The initial impact reportedly forced the truck to spin out of control and overturn, while the car proceeded to continue on and collide with a third vehicle.

Law enforcement agents say that the driver of the third vehicle suffered fatal injuries and passed away at the scene of the crash. They also advised that two other individuals involved in the incident were both transported to a medical facility for treatment of severe injuries. Although an investigation into the incident is currently ongoing, no further information was provided as to what might have caused it to occur.

Suffering serious harm or losing a loved one in a car accident involving a negligent driver can be a devastating experience. Those who encounter such a scenario and wish to better understand all their available legal options could choose to seek legal counsel for advice on the next steps to take to seek restitution. An attorney can help a client in California understand what to expect from the process and assist him or her in pursuing the compensation entitled through a claim against the party deemed at fault.
