Cycling Champion fatally struck by car in SF Presidio

On April 4, 2023, at about 4 p.m., USA Cycling champion Ethan Boyes sustained fatal injuries when struck head-on by a car while riding in the bike lane at Arguello Blvd., south of Washington Blvd. in the San Francisco Presidio. A witness saw the car speeding just before striking the 44-year-old cyclist. This tragic event highlights the need for greater safety for cyclists, particularly in San Francisco where there have been 34 bike fatalities since 2010.
