Focus and attention are required for drivers to safely operate motor vehicles. As roadways in California become more crowded and congested, car accidents will be inevitable. If a driver loses focus for only a split second behind the wheel, it is enough time to cause a traumatic accident. Unfortunately, car accidents remain one of the top causes of death and injury in the United States
Fatal accident details
Recently in North Hollywood, a young woman was killed and another driver was hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash at an intersection. The accident happened just after midnight at the intersection of Sherman Way and Tujunga Boulevard. According to police reports, a pickup truck crashed violently into a sedan at the intersection. Tragically, authorities said the 25-year-old female driver of the sedan was killed in the accident.
The driver of the pickup truck was injured and taken to a local hospital, reports said. News video showed severe damage to the left front end of the pickup truck and the driver’s side of the sedan. Police said they suspect one of the vehicles ran the red light at the intersection. Officers are urging drivers to watch their speed and pay attention to traffic lights.
Obtaining legal assistance
Driving is a responsibility that should never be taken for granted. Those in California who have suffered injuries or losses in car accidents caused by the negligence of another party can get help by contacting a seasoned personal injury attorney. Damages from a successful lawsuit could provide monetary relief to aid in the recovery of victims and families.
